Release focus: This post breaks down the Inventory & Order Management enhancements in MYOB Acumatica 2025.1:
- capture package weights from DeviceHub on Shipments,
- correct or cancel released purchase receipts (Normal and Drop-Ship),
- lot/serial attributes and unit-level pricing/description,
- new Receive Transfer mode for mobile receiving and put-away,
- updated access rights and planning visibility, plus other quality-of-life fixes.
Why this matters
- Ship faster and charge accurately: Pull the real scale weight into shipments instead of typing it.
- Fix mistakes without workarounds: Correct or cancel released receipts while keeping PO/SO, accruals, and inventory in sync.
- Sell the exact unit your customer needs: Attribute-level filtering and unit-specific price/description for serial/lot items.
- Receive inter-warehouse transfers on mobile: Scan, receive, release, and put away in fewer steps.
- Plan with confidence: Better role access, clearer forecast consumption, and traceable planning links.
1) Capture package weights from DeviceHub on Shipments
You can now capture scale readings on the Shipments (SO302000) form, both on the Packages tab and in Shop for Rates. To perform this operation, the user selects the package and clicks the new Capture Weight button on the table toolbar of the upper table on this tab (Item 1 in the following screenshot). If a default scale is specified for the user account, the system automatically inserts this scale's value from the Last Weight column on the Scales (SM206530) form into the Weight column on the Packages tab of the Shipments form (Item 2).
Why you care: fewer re-weighing errors, faster rate-shopping, and cleaner carrier labels.

Capture of the Weight of a Package in the Shop for Rates Dialog Box
A user may want to specify the weight of a package directly in the Shop for Rates dialog box on the Shipments (SO302000) form before they get the carrier rates. To perform this operation, the user adds the packages to the Packages table in the dialog box, selects a package, and clicks the Capture Weight button on the table toolbar (Item 1 in the following screenshot). If a default scale is specified for the user account, the system automatically inserts this scale's value from the Last Weight column on the Scales (SM206530) form into the Weight column on the Packages tab of the Shipments form (Item 2).

Specification of the Default Scale for a User Account
A user can specify the default digital scale device to be used for their own user account on the User Profile (SM203010) form. In the Personal Settings section of the General Info tab, they specify a configured device in the Default Scale box.
Other Changes
The use of a scale connected to DeviceHub prior to MYOB Acumatica 2025.1 required the DeviceHub and Warehouse Management features to be enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS1000000) form. Now it requires only the DeviceHub feature to be enabled.
2) Correct or cancel released purchase receipts
Drop-Ship POs
On Purchase Receipts (PO302000) you can Correct Receipt or Cancel Receipt for released receipts tied to Drop-Ship orders, subject to guardrails (no unreversed AP bills, no landed costs, etc.). A correction creates a linked “correction receipt,” marks the original as Under Correction, and restricts actions on the original until the correction is released. Canceling reopens PO/SO lines and updates quantities; if a related sales invoice was canceled, Acumatica auto-creates and releases a reversal inventory issue. Note: unavailable if Manufacturing or Service Management features are enabled. (The Correct Receipt and Cancel Receipt commands are not displayed on the More menu in this case.) We highly recommend that a company verify that there are no unreleased correction receipts in the system before it enables the Manufacturing or Service Management feature.

Normal POs
You can also correct or cancel released receipts for Normal POs. Corrections may trigger inventory validation and a system-created correction inventory issue to reconcile quantities and costs across valuation methods (FIFO, Specific, Average, Standard). Cancellation validates availability and may create a reversal inventory issue automatically. New posting controls include a Purchase Receipt Correction Reason Code on Posting Classes (IN206000) for cost deltas where some quantity had already moved. Reporting and inquiries have been updated to properly include or exclude Under Correction and Canceled receipts.

Why you care: recover quickly from receipt errors without manual journals, keep PO/SO status right, and preserve accrual and valuation integrity.
3) Lot and serial attributes + unit-level price/description
A new Lot/Serial Attributes capability lets you define attributes on Lot/Serial Classes (IN207000) and manage attribute values per lot or serial. You can view and edit them during receiving (Purchase Receipts (PO302000), Receipts (IN301000)), on items (Stock Items (IN202500)), and in a new Lot/Serial Details (IN209600) profile with tabs for Attributes, Description, and History. Sales users can pick specific units via Add Lot/Serial Nbr. on Sales Orders (SO301000), search/filter by attributes, and, if enabled, use unit-specific description, sales price, and MSRP.
Limitations apply (e.g., unit price mode means each unit is a separate line and cannot be in AR price lists). Feature is under Experimental and not supported in Manufacturing, Field Services, or Retail Commerce in 2025.1.
Why you care: perfect for high-spec or regulated items where attributes like grade, calibration date, bin, or manufacturer lot matter at the time of sale.

4) Receive Transfer mode for mobile receiving and put-away
Warehouse teams can now create transfer receipts from a transfer order or transfer shipment directly in Receive and Put Away (PO302020) or mobile. Enable Display the Receive Transfer Tab in PO Preferences (PO101000) and optionally set a user’s default mode in User Profile. The Shipments (SO302000) screen shows a new Receipts tab for transfer shipments, and Purchase Receipts (PO302000) gains a Put Away tab for transfer receipts. The Shipment Confirmation (SO642000) report includes a scannable barcode to kick off receiving. Multiple workers can receive different items from the same transfer shipment concurrently; the system switches modes based on scanned document types and handles duplicate identifiers with documented precedence rules.
Why you care: fewer hand-offs, less wait for office-created receipts, and faster stock availability at the destination.

5) Access rights: predefined roles updated for planning forms
Predefined roles such as SO Admin / Manager / Clerk / Viewer, PO Admin / Manager / Buyer / Clerk / Viewer, and IN Admin / Manager / Receiver / Shipper / Clerk / Viewer have updated access to Inventory Planning forms (Forecast, Generate Forecasts, Planning Buckets, Requirements by Item, Results by Item, etc.). This reduces one-off role editing when rolling out DRP/MRP planning.
The following table shows the updated access rights to inventory planning forms in the predefined user roles. Full access indicates the Delete restriction level; no access indicates the Revoked restriction level.
Tip: The inventory planning forms are available in the system only when the Distribution Requirements Planning or Material Requirements Planning feature is enabled on the Enable/Disable Features (CS100000) form.

- Traceability upgrades on Inventory Planning Results by Item (AM404000) and Inventory Planning Display (AM400000) add Related Product Document, Consolidation ID, and Generated Supply Document columns, plus a new PLPO numbering sequence for planning-generated POs.
Why you care: plan owners can see what actually consumed the forecast and follow supply suggestions back to their demand source.
7) Other improvements
- The Advanced Availability Validation checkbox is removed from Sales Orders Preferences. To allow negative on-hand in documents, use Allow Negative Quantity on Item Classes (IN201000). This aligns validation with real inventory rules.

Frequently Asked (and Useful) Questions
Q: Do we still need Warehouse Management to capture scale weights on Shipments?
A: No. For this weighing flow, 2025.1 only requires DeviceHub.
Q: Can we correct any receipt line in a correction receipt?
A: You can edit permitted fields and quantities; you cannot add new lines or delete copied lines. Some types (e.g., non-stock kits) and states have limits.
Q: Do I need Warehouse Management for Receive Transfer on mobile?
A: The Receive and Put Away workflow runs in the Warehouse Management app. Ensure the Warehouse Management feature and the mobile app are enabled and updated for your tenant. If you’re not licensed for WMS, you can still receive transfers on the desktop Purchase Receipts (PO302000) form.
Q: Is unit-level price/description for serial/lot items optional?
A: Yes, it is controlled by Specify Lot/Serial Price and Description on the lot/serial class. Enabling it imposes sales-line and pricing list limitations.
Q: Can multiple workers receive the same transfer shipment?
A: Yes. Different items can be received by different users into separate transfer receipts, then put away.
